Terms and Conditions

Please note the following points in relation to the fitting of flooring in your property.

  • Natural flooring products: Due to the nature of natural products we cannot accept responsibility for the shrinkage & colour change of such flooring after installation. Every effort is made to ‘store’ the flooring on site at least 48 hours prior to installation to allow it to become accustomed to the environment.
  • Carpet characteristics: All carpets with a pile may develop light and dark patches caused by uneven pressure on the pile in wear. This cannot be prevented however well a carpet is made. Carpets made on looms of different widths or supplied at different times cannot be guaranteed to match exactly.
  • Doors: Door trimming is charged at £15 per door. Trimming of the bottom of some doors with a door trimmer can be done by our carpet fitters usually whilst the doors are in place. (occasionally the doors have to be removed in order to trim them ). However during this process it may disturb the paintwork and can splinter the bottom of the door especially if used on a flush hardboard door. You may require a carpenter’s specialist attention. When new doors are hung please ensure enough allowance is made to clear selected carpet & underlay. This is generally 18-20 mm. Please discuss this with the carpenter/builder upon installation. For outside doors please take advice from a carpenter/builder to ensure that the threshold remains watertight.
  • Pipes & Cables: Care is taken to avoid any pipes & cables. If they are installed in accordance with building regulations they will be beyond the depth of our fixings and will not present a problem. Please advise us if you know if any pipes or cables are close to the surface and we will do our utmost to avoid them. We will not accept responsibility for any damage unless you have specifically given details to our fitter, before work commences.
  • Decorations: Care is taken with decorations, however walls & skirting boards are vulnerable during the installation of flooring. We especially ask that new paintwork is fully dried hard which can take up to 2 weeks. Any long curtains or blinds should be removed to avoid damage.
  • Furniture: A charge is made for the removal of furniture. This will be discussed with the estimator during their visit to your property. We do ask that you remove any vulnerable or valuable items and equipment from the areas our fitters are to work. Whilst care is taken we will not be held responsible for damages or breakages of items left in rooms or access areas.
  • Sub Floor: The condition of the sub floor is of crucial importance when laying hard flooring and fully bonded carpets. Upon the initial visit from our estimator we rely on you to tell us if there is damp present in the floor. In the case of old buildings a damp proof course may not be present as normally expected. We will not be held responsible for damp floors (caused by leakages or otherwise) that damage the flooring in any way during or after installation. This if especially of importance where flooring is to be bonded / tackified to the sub floor or fully stuck down. This includes natural flooring that is stuck down.

Blinds

  • Acceptable shade and pattern variations may occur when blinds are cut from different rolls of the same fabric design and colour
  • We are not responsible for shade variations due to light or colours emanating from other sources that may affect the overall appearance of your blinds
  • Where translucent materials overlap, bunch, gather or fold, the colours will darken naturally, and this is not a fault of such materials
  • Although blackout fabrics will not let light penetrate through fabrics light can still bleed through edges and stitch/drill holes
  • Fabric names are not a description of colour, but a method of identification
  • Washable fabrics must be washed strictly according to instructions, supplied separately. Not all fabrics may be washable, please check before washing
  • Wool blinds are a natural product and so there can be a small element of warping and shade variation due to natural ageing.

Fabric/Curtains

  • Once an order is in production, we will accept no cancellations or alterations
  • After treatments – may alter the fabrics in respect of resistance to abrasion, tear strength, breaking strength, seam slippage, colour, light fastness and resistance to change in colour by rubbing and cleaning method.
  • It is not always possible to obtain an exact match to the samples displayed. Should a close match be required the Buyer must request a stock sample for approval prior to ordering. In the case of repeat orders, the Buyer must provide a cutting of the fabric to be matched and the Sellers original invoice number, dye batch and piece number.

Sizes

  • We cannot be held responsible for incorrect sizes supplied by you. Where sizes are measured by our representative, we shall be responsible for those measurements, and such measurements will be deemed to be correct if the blind fits from the points we have measured from.
  • Where windows are out of alignment and /or walls, sills, etc are not level, gaps may appear between the blind and where it is fixed. This is not a fault of measuring. To operate properly, the blind will need to be fitted square and level.

  • If brackets are requested to be face fixed then it may be necessary to drill holes in window frames. This should not affect the operation of your windows, and you are advised to check with our fitters first.
  • We are not responsible for decorations, paint-work or plaster-work that may be disturbed where necessary holes are drilled by our fitters. Any additional holes drilled to get a better fixing will be filled with appropriate filler but not painted. Some times walls can crumble and fixings cannot be made in the original place agreed. We cannot accept responsibility for this.
  • Our fitters will take care to keep any dust to a minimum, and will use dust sheets and clean up in an appropriate manner.
  • Wherever possible, it is you responsibility to inform the fitter or to mark any hidden pipes, conduits or cables. We can not be held responsible for any damaged caused by drilling into unknown areas of wall or framework, although we will take as much care as possible to avoid such events.
